Psychology (Educational) Assessment
As a retired teacher with 21 years experience in the school systems as a learning support teacher and guidance counsellor from grades 1-12, Myka has a well established connection to the current education system. Myka's expertise in conducting psychological educational assessments provides families/students with tailor made learner profiles and child specific interventions that educators can implement immediately. Myka's goal is to help students feel successful and authentic in who they are as learners and as individuals. Regardless of your age, a psychological assessment can give you the insights you need to understand how you learn and navigate the world around you.
Currently there is a 1 week wait to book assessments.
Psychological Educational Assessments ($3000) will vary depending on the evaluation questions and the specific assessment battery. Adult ADHD assessments are also available ($1500) with Autism Diagnose available begin in May 2025 ($4500).

Clinical Psychological Trauma Therapy
Myka's integrated approach to clinical therapy uses individually tailored supports to assist with your individualized treatment. EMDR (EMDRIA Trained Practitioner), Cognitive Behavioural Trauma Informed, Bibliotherapy, Internal Family Systems as well as Somatic therapies (please scroll down for explanations of therapies) are integrated to provide effective support for
adults, teens and children.
Myka's fee schedule aligns with the Psychological Association of Alberta (PAA) at $235 an hour for Clinical sessions.

Fun Facts!
Myka is a retired British Association of Teachers of Dance professional back up dancer who worked with Alberta's own Bobby Curtola and drag queen turned Gallery Merrick owner, Joe Bembridge, aka Miss Ellen Q.
Although skiing use to be her income source, she now skis recreationally with her family.
Myka continues to study and learn, aligning her skills with the individual needs of her clients.
Living in a blended family, Myka spends her time between Canmore and Okotoks.
Climbing, skiing and hiking remain her favourite past times along with the odd paddle board.
Myka Piekenbrock is a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts the Alberta Chapter, The Canadian Psychological Association, The Psychological Association of Alberta, EMDR Canada and EMDRIA International Associations.
